Presentation: Navigating the Age of Disruption: Growth Investing in a World of Technological Innovation
2020 has been a year of social, professional, and technological disruption. Technologies such as digital payments, telehealth, and data warehousing saw soaring rates of adoption, while demand for commercial office space and retail properties tumbled. While lower market returns make it harder for investors to meet long-term financial goals, the ability to identify and invest early in disruptive and innovative companies with long-duration growth potential is critical to successful growth investing. Raj Shant, Managing Director and Portfolio Specialist at Jennison Associates, a PGIM Business, will examine what lies ahead for equity investors and which disruptive trends will drive a new global paradigm in the upcoming years.
Raj is a portfolio specialist who supports Jennison’s distribution and client efforts across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He joined Jennison in 2019. Prior to Jennison, Raj spent 17 years with Newton Investment Management, where he began as head of European equities and then became a global equity portfolio manager and portfolio specialist. In the final year at Newton he was also head of sustainable investing. Previously, he spent five years with Credit Suisse Asset Management, most recently as head of European equities. He began his career in investment banking before moving to become an investment analyst and portfolio manager. Raj earned a BA with honors in economics and management from Leeds University.
