The rapid growth in ESG-led strategies has driven a flight of capital out of those sectors and companies perceived as less ‘good’ in ESG terms, and this is especially true in terms of climate and the energy transition necessary to reach net zero targets. However they could still be relevant in a green economy, and even be critical to enabling the energy transition.
